Picture a musical without the jazz hands. Picture a rock band without the hangover. Now throw in an eclectic mix of catchy songs. The result is Stagehands, a band that combines theatre and pop-rock to create a whole new kind of show. This is Broadway-Rock!

Part grit, part glamour, Stagehands is not just a band, but also a theatrical production which combines the sound and storytelling of Broadway with the power and excitement of rock. Their first show, The Silent City, is performed by the band’s members (Geoff Stevens, Mackenzie Zufelt, Justine Moritz, Nemanja Protic, David Yenovkian, and Marko Pandza) who double as musicians and actors.

Stagehands’ first album, The Silent City, was written and produced from the ground up by the group itself. It tells the story of Stan, a lonely and frustrated songwriter who travels to Laconia, The Land of Entertainment, in search of fame.  What Stan finds upon his arrival is a city whose celebrity citizens are forced to wear masks by the evil, all-powerful, yet charming Mayor.  By the end of his adventure in Laconia, Stan must face an impossible choice: fighting the Mayor and losing his chance at fame, or wearing the mask and losing himself. The Silent City races through a wide range of musical genres toward a musical finale that will decide Stan's and Laconia's fates forever.

With an arsenal of innovative songs, Stagehands is poised to take centre-stage on the contemporary music scene. Get ready!

Stan is an aspiring songwriter who longs to escape his mundane existence into a world that dazzles and excites. He is humble and naïve, yet driven to succeed by a belief that his actions can change the world.

Stan is the ultimate everyman: a hero for anyone who has ever desired fame, glory, or freedom. But how can a single soul hope to succeed when the 'more' he seeks is denied him by the only people he thinks he can trust?

Ever present, the narrator is the guide to our heroes' journey from dull grey space into Laconia, The Land of Entertainment.

We never know where she will pop up, and on whose side she is on, but one thing is for sure: this is a narrator you just can't help but notice.

Ashley is the city's favourite, a rebellious star and friend to Stan, and the missing piece of the puzzle in the fight against The Silent City.

When things are at their worst, Ashley appears like a flame in the darkness to show us that with help, hope can always be found. But will hope be enough to stop the evil Mayor?

Every good city needs a good leader. He can take you to the top, but only if you stay under his thumb. Preaching rather than practicing, the evil Mayor is the reason masks are worn in the "Land of Entertainment."

He's oppressive, he's a hypocrite, and he'll take away everything that makes you unique. But how can you resist a charismatic politician?

The Sailor is the ferryman to Laconia. He makes sure to warn Stan of the dangers of The Silent City, yet only succeeds in making Laconia seem more appealing than the commercials do.

Afraid and oppressed, these huddled masses are just waiting for the chance to follow a brighter star and say goodbye to the Mayor. But until then, they wear the masks and stand in line.
